May 16th and May 20th!

Multiple people are still in jail and facing serious felonies following
the May Day Anti-Capitalist March. This Thursday, May 16th at 8:30 am in room East 1201 two of those people will be in court again for arraignment hearings. One is being charged with 2nd degree assault and is being held on $60,000 bail. The other is being charged with 3rd degree assault and is being held on $20,000 bail.

Two more people will be in court with arraignment hearings on Monday, May 20th at 8:30 am in courtroom East 1201. Both have been released from jail but are still facing felonies. One is being charged with assaulting an officer and the other is being charged with felony riot.

At their last court date no one was able to get in because the media
packed the courtroom before supporters could. This hearing is happening in a larger courtroom, so it should not be a problem this time, but if you are able to, please try to show up early.

Be aware that the Seattle Pigs say that they are working “feverishly” to identify further May Day suspects. You will be expected to show a state-issued ID card and will not be allowed to bring weapons (pocket-knives even) or any other kind of sketchy material into the courthouse. If there is any reason you suspect that there may be pictures of you committing a crime on May Day and you did not properly conceal your identity, it may be worth considering not coming to the courthouse. Solidarity can be given in many different ways.
